Tips for fully enjoying the sunset at Beach Hotel Sunshine
The sunsets viewed from Beach Hotel Sunshine are some of the favorite scenic highlights, also among our staff.
On certain days, the round sun gently sinks into the horizon; on others, soft rays filter through the humidity, or the shimmering water reflects light that outlines the silhouette of Iriomote Island.
Each evening offers a unique display of sunset beauty.
Here are a few helpful tips to make the most of your sunset experience with us.
Tip 1: Check the sunset time
Sunset times vary depending on the season and location. Before heading out, check the expected sunset time for your stay.
The latest sunsets in Ishigaki Island occur just after the summer solstice, around 7:30 PM.
The earliest are just before the winter solstice, around 5:55 PM.
Be sure to check the time in advance, as the difference between seasons can be significant.

Tip 2: Know where the sun will set
The position of the setting sun as seen from Beach Hotel Sunshine shifts considerably over the course of the year.
Around the winter solstice, the sun sets on the horizon between Taketomi Island and Iriomote Island.
Around the summer solstice, it sets between Iriomote Island and Ishigaki Island.
Tip 3: Choose your viewing spot
Your ideal viewing location may vary depending on how you wish to enjoy the sunset.
For a quiet, relaxing view:
Unwind on the seaside promenade and gaze out at the horizon while listening to the sound of the waves and feeling the ocean breeze.
You can also enjoy a stroll along the beach, or in the cooler seasons, relax in our open-air bath while watching the sunset.
